Halloween went rather well, albeit wet. Wahoo came over and sculpted the most awesome pumpkin with a rat on it, but I on the other hand dropped the ball and didn't have my camera to immortalize it. We had a rather low turn out of trick or treaters, with the majority of them being young girls dressed as Harry Potter one really sad Indiana Jones, and one kid showing up at 10pm wearing a full nine yards kilt. I also learned, that I'm not fearing the day Shawn goes gray, because I think he looked pretty good as Dr. Orpheus/Dr. Strange hybrid, even if he was wearing my pajama pants. Also, my Modest Mary Marvel costume has got to be the most comfortable costume I've had in years.
Saturday was more wet, but we had the dry and crowded den of APE to keep us safe. I was rather surprised how much crafty stuff was at the Alternative Press Expo. My favorite was the Nanamation booth, where I got these adorable coffee cards. Amongst other things, I saw scarves, paintings, various clothing items and bags, tons of monsters and plushes; and not all were tied into a comic book. In my opinion, that's what makes APE cool, the blend of comics with other alternative interests, as it were. Oh, that and you get in free with your ComicCon pass!
Sunday, held still more cool arty stuff. Wahoo, Della, and I met for coffee, before we walked over to the You Bazaar. Now, Wahoo and I thought we were going to the Bazaar Bizarre, as we did last year. Luckily, Della had her stuff together and pointed out that the B.B. will be later this month, which I guess explains why the event was so small. What was more unfortunate, was that there wasn't a lot of people visiting, and I felt bad for all the great vendors, because there was so many cute products to see. My favorite, hands down, were the lariat necklaces by Katy Kristin. The girls bought some kits, and lucky for us, the lack of crowds meant be got to take a good amount of time at all the booths, and actually talk to the crafsters. The not so cool part was that we were done all too quick, though it definitely whetted our appetites for the 30th.
