Does this make me look metrosexual?

Accessories for the modern male.

Some time back, this particular laptop cozy tutorial caught my eye. I will admit that the most intriguing thing about it, for me, was the wonderful color combination of the felts. I had looked at it for some time, considering making one of my own, but I had never been too keen on copying the exact example from a tutorial.

Times like these you really bless your rotary cutter.

This weekend however, brought Shawn and our friend Roger's birthday, and since this particular friend is way into tech, I thought I would give the tutorial a spin. After reading through the entire tutorial and the comments I knew I was going to make a couple of small adjustments.

Pocket and Patch

The first adjustment I made, was to add the B.P.R.D. patch. Roger is our comic book friend. Not to say he is our only friend that reads comics, or that we only do comic related things with him, but as it turns out we go to just about every convention together, and he was actually the one who told me what the heck this patch was, when someone handed it to me at SDCC.

The next two alterations were a bit more complicated. The first; I sewed the lining to the outside. Frankly Stitch-Witchery is fine if you don't have a sewing machine, but I have one and I plan to use it. Second; I left the last outermost edge open, but sewed it shut about 10" down to create an outside pocket. I also, added a little tag, because I didn't think that it was that obvious on first glance what it is! hahah

I miss you Cafe lo Cubano

With the left over felt, from the laptop cozy, I made a matching coffee sleeve. I would love to know, of the three sleeves I have made so far, if any of my friends have used them. I obviously think they're pretty nifty, but every time I make one I think, "this is going to get left in Starbucks," or wonder if they ever remember to bring it along, let alone want to use it!

Jolly Roger... get it? Don't blame me...

I affixed a little label to cozy too, freezer stenciled on a skull and crossbones, and bundled it up for gifting. I was delighted to see that Roger seemed to really take to the laptop cozy, and the tutorial was certainly simple enough that I was would recommend it to anyone, and follow it again.
