Don’t you love the mail?

Those Amazon suggestions get me in nothing but trouble. Innocently enough, I was only searching to see when the Justice League Unlimited cartoons were coming out on DVD; when they got me last. I was simply going to buy a book club item or some milk, when I found suggestions waiting for me.

Torre de Vigilancia! (aka the JLA Watchtower Playset).

I saw the reviews.
The reviews said that this was one very large piece of junk.
I bought it as soon as it went on sale.

When it arrived, I let it sit in the box for almost a week, postponing the inventible. However, I knew deep down that sooner or later I would have to put it together. I was relieved that it didn’t take much more than a working knowledge of a deck cards and some short-term memory to construct this, as it utilized the match this symbol with that symbol methodology. Though in the end there was bribery and Shawn involved, and whenever a gentle breeze wafts through the legs still fall off.

Now, I must go off on a slight tangent for the moment. One Christmas, my then favorite aunt had purchased several Cabbage Patch Kids figuesPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting. She parceled these out to me throughout my visit, delighting me with surprise present, after surprise present. My parents, I’m sure, must have given me some wonderful presents that holiday. But the only ones I remember were the prolonged Cabbage Patch Kid giving. Every time I received one, I figured it had to be the last, but then a few hours later Mary gave me another.

The excitement and fun is so imbedded in my memory that someday I want to do this with my own kids.

My plan goes like this:
- Watch the JLA videos with little William and Ann(of course William and Ann will love the JLA, they will be Shawn and I’s offspring)
- One rainy Sunday I will dole out a Batman (you have to start big)
- Days will pass and then maybe I’ll give them a Superman or a Wonder Woman
- They will be the most popular kids on the block, because they will be the only ones with the Star Crossed video and a Wildcat figure

Yet there was a hitch in my plan…
I owned the Watchtower…
I owned a Zatanna (of course)…
I owned a Booster Gold…
…and welp, that’s all.

I was in dire need of populating the satellite.

This was remedied today; I received a package!

and there was much rejoicing in Mudville:

Yes, this package was gifted to me by the greatest person in all of New Jersey. DD swore that I was going to have tea parties with them. He doesn’t know how wrong he was…

But don’t worry DD, I got them all tucked into bed, way before bedtime.

Now the question remains...how might this all relate to crafting? Well, we had to put the watchtower together, didn't we? Sheesh loosen up!

Ok. Ok. How about this? You may be wondering why some really nice guy in Jersey is sending me large boxes of toys. Well this is because he is actually the best crafter on the interwebs, and he was just pawning the surplus on me. (Which I VERY much appreciate). It may have taken awhile for us to get here, but we have finally pulled up to our very first

FEATURED SITE

and the reason of this evenings post. I KNOW that I could rattle on a few pages here on the excellent and exciting work DD does, but honestly, you should just visit the site. DD is proof you can make your own dreams come true. If your dreams are of having a customized collection of the Astonishing X-men. Very nice pal. Take a bow.
